I just pulled into the driveway of our log house and a bird landed on the mirror and looked at me. It was just like it was trying to say hello. I told Dave and he said a bird had done the same thing when he pulled in a short time earlier.

I just love Spring. There is new life everywhere and things seems so fresh .

The new tad pools will be born soon which is always fun.

As we get ready to close out 2011, I find myself with mixed emotions. We have made a lot of progress on our second rental yet still have much to do before our second Wisconsin Dells Vacation Home rental is ready for the first guests. We have purchased oak flooring for the main floor and will be installing tile in the basement. I have always wanted oak flooring in our home so I must admit, I am a bit jealous. We still have to purchase doors, trim, more drywall for the basement, etc but it's starting to take shape.

Thank you to all who stayed with us in 2011. We have greatly enjoyed your stay and hope you will come stay again, soon. We are currently hosting guests from Brazil on the student worker program. It's great fun to get to know these young guests who are so enthusiastic to visit the States. It's really fun to see how they react to the snow.

What a Beautiful Memorial Day

What a beautiful Day to rent our vacation home. We would like to say congratulations to our two newly married couples as well as thanking Ed and Dallas and their group for including us in their special occassion. We wish you all the best.

Dave has taken it upon himself to clear a waterway to the lake so it is full and very refreshing. We took a break from working today and dipped our feet in the water. We just bought Granite counter tops for the kitchen

Greetings, we are making great progress on the new house. We bought granite counter tops for the kitchen yesterday. We purchased the new cabinets a couple of weeks ago and things should look great. We also purchased granite vanity tops for two of the three bathrooms and one of the new tubs. The house will be completely new when you rent in late 2011.

Once we start putting things back together, I will post pictures of our progress.

The New Vacation Rental Remodel is Coming Along

It's a big job. We had to remove all the drywall from the basement, take down walls,rip out carpeting downstairs and up, put in a new water heater and move some wiring, and run all new plumbing. Last weekend, we installed two new French doors.

We only have weekends to work on the house so it will take all winter and much of next Summer, I imagine. I think we will sleep ten again. There is a large bedroom on the first floor, and a new Master bedroom going in downstairs with French doors to the outside, fireplace, private bath and walk-in closet. The third bedroom is smaller but should have room for two twins or a trundle bed. We will have another bed on the three season porch. and most likely another in the living room.

Hi everyone, only have time for a quick note right now but wanted to let you know we are buying another house that will be available for rent sometime in 2011. It's a log house on the same street so you could book two houses for large groups. We have rennovations to do and it will take some time because we live an hour and a half from the Dells and can only work on it on the weekends. We will keep you updated. We also recently added an air hockey table to our first house. I will be posting pictures this weekend.

Upgrade from a 26" to a 42" TV

We just upgraded from a 42" to a 46" tv in the Master bedroom. It's a much nicer experience. Now you can watch a DVD in the living room or the bedroom with complete comfort. We are receiving many inquiries for the 2010 season. Keep an eye open for additions as we get closer to Memorial Day.

Winter Carnival at Christmas Mountain

Fall in the Dells

There's still lots to do in the Dells area. Coming up on Sep 13, 2009 is the annual Circus of Chefs. The main fund raiser of Baraboo's Circus World. Before you arrive, we change all the linens, including the mattress pads. We also change the shower curtain liners. Have you ever wondered about the blankets when you have stayed in hotels? We have. That's why we change everything. You deserve it. We want you to have a carefree and relaxing stay in our home. We will be upgrading our water heater to a tank less model soon. We are now renting by the day ( three day minimum). You can rent an entire house for ten for just $73.85 per person, per night, including taxes and fees. Three nights, cleaning fee, and taxes equals $738.50. Wisconsin Dells is centrally located. You can shop or take in a show in Madison (only an hours drive), go gambling, or see a Las Vegas style magic show. There is far more to the Dells than water parks. So, grab some friends and come stay some long weekend. We will let you check in at noon, rather than 4 pm, on Thursday or Friday for three day stays. Hope to hear from you soon.

On July 23rd between 4-6 pm there will be a silent auction to raise funds for The Red Balloon Child Care Centers, Inc, a non-profit organization. We have teamed up with them to help raise money for families having a difficult time by donating a weekend stay in our vacation home Oct 2-4th . Swimming in Arbor Lake

We went swimming in Arbor Lake. The water was quite warm in spots. Our five year old wanted to know if the tad poles would bite her toes. She ended up wading out to neck height. We had the entire lake to ourselves. It was so relaxing. Next time I will bring a life jacket for Emily and maybe an inner tube.
